B.TECH – INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The Department is Offering an Undergraduate degree program in Information Technology, It is a Four year degree program.
Information Technology
Information technology (IT) is ability to manipulate information for various applications. Any generated information computationally processed in the form of data. Application of IT involves data storage, data communication, data exchange, data manipulation, data processing and data control, IT focuses on the development, implementation, support, and management of computers and information systems. IT involves working both with hardware (CPUs, RAM, hard disks) and software (operating systems, web browsers, mobile applications). IT professionals are the generally experts who understand the flow the information and its processes.
Application of Information technology especially mobile based computing platforms have revolutionized human life in the last three decades. It practically involves deployment and maintenance of business applications, services and infrastructure (servers, networks, storage). The deployment of IT services also includes monitoring, optimization and troubleshooting of the performance of applications, services and infrastructure (computing). With rapid development and usage of smart phones and laptops through wireless communication systesm have necessitated the requirement of security and governance of IT applications, services and computing infrastructure.
